Mawi Haus
Jimbaran, Bali, 2025

Mawi Haus is a co-living and lodging in Jimbaran, offering spaces for both long and short term. The questions on dwelling and temporariness are responded to in a form of practical living, providing the essentials and clear perspectives for the users while they navigate their life around the island.

At the front of the compound is @cupofmawi (Instagram), a small, intimate coffee shop that serves as the living room and social space. The coffee shop and the twelve rooms are connected through the open courtyard, which acts as the heart of the compound. The arrangements are meant to form their own take on balance, between the natural and man-made, between the public and private domain, both within the site and in its relation to the neighbourhood.

Customized gradient concrete tile representing movements and dance, enveloping a still and utilitarian box structure.
