An old house is converted into a new communal home for @houmyoga (Instagram) and @houm.coffee (Instagram). The project is a study of balancing control and letting go, finding grace in what is already there, and doing the essentials and necessary. Accepting oneself in the process.

The compound opens up to the block. An open terrace forms a welcoming gesture at the front, creating a new dynamic with the neighbourhood and the city. An independent box structure covered in wooden shingles is inserted to define the entrance, establishing a connection with the existing building, which is reintroduced with a composition of wooden lattice screens. At the heart of the compound is a courtyard that opens to the sky, redefined by reducing excess in lines and forms in its surrounding elements.
